Bio
Joe has shared the stage with many accomplished musicians. As part of the Birch Creek Jazz Orchestra over the past three summers, he has performed with Jeff Campbell, Clay Jenkins, Tanya Darby, Dennis Mackrel, Reggie Thomas, Mardra Thomas, Todd Williams, Steve Horne, Rick Haydon, David Bixler, Clarence Hines, and Charlie Carr. He has also performed with the Innovation Jazz Orchestra, Mark Filsinger's Chamber Big Band, the Buffalo Jazz Tentet, and more recently, the Steve Guerra Big Band and the South Florida Jazz Orchestra.
Recordings of Joe's playing can be found on his 2021 E.P. of original compositions, El Próximo Paso, his 2025 single, "Hermosa," and as a sideman on Steven Hardy's 2022 album, Encompassed and Adam Huang's 2025 album, Kind of Free. Joe has also played for Cinderella at the Geva Theatre and SUNY Geneseo's productions of The Wedding Singer and The Drowsy Chaperone. He also has experience performing salsa and top-40 music.
Joe received a Bachelor of Music degree from Brigham Young University and a Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Music and Arts degree at the Frost School of Music.
